Originally I planned to do my 25 Weeks of Cupcakes every other week, but I have a lovely little trip coming up at the end of the month. So I thought I would do it now, and do a packing post next week.
My roommate Courtney's favorite is funfetti. After she suffered through my tart pink lemonade ones, I thought I would give her a treat ;D
So, I went to one of my favorite baking blogs, Sally's Baking Addiction. She has amazing recipes, and they are all from scratch. You should definitely check it out! I made her Easy Funfetti Cupcakes! <3 #25Funfetti
Fun Funfetti Cupcakes
I really need to work on taking more pictures of the process guys!! Let me know what you guys want to see in the photos. I'm going to try to get Courtney to take pictures of me actually baking them. This was my break while the cupcakes cooked ;D.
I've got to get better at the waiting thing. I always want to put the icing on before they're cooled.
Courtney seemed to really enjoy them. ;D
Our friend Mackenzie really liked them too, except for the one that she pushed into Courtney's face. Really wish I had caught that on camera!!
Icing is my favorite part ;D Also I got a cute spatula that I wanted to show off.
Two more quick things. One, I got the interview at Sprinkles!!!! -dances- Fingers crossed they call me back. Also after the cupcakes, we went on a little adventure to the Magic Castle in Hollywood. Big thanks to our friend who got us in! It was....magical! I want to live there forever.
Valentine's Day Photo Diary
Valentine's Day is always a big ho-ho in everyone's life. Even if you don't want it to be a big deal, you can't escape it's grasp on the world around you.
I personally have always loved Valentine's Day. I've never had a valentine on Valentine's Day, and I don't have any complaints! It gives me an "excuse" to spoil myself with items I want like make up or clothes. I also love making all the heart shaped, pink and red treats.
So not only will this post be about how I celebrated my Valentine's Day, but also Week 1 of my blog's cupcake series: 25 Weeks of Cupcakes!! #25Cupcakes

Fashion Rules the World
And so the fashion year begins!! I've always been a big fan of clothes and shoes. For a while, I knew that I liked fashion, but I never really understood the big hype about fashion week.
It was a bunch of girls that were prettier than I, walking around in ridiculous looking outfits no one would wear in the real world.
Then two ideas meshed in my brain.
I have always been a big picture kind of gal. I loved going through stores and looking at their mannequins, the finished product. I would take what I saw (and liked!) and replaced those pieces with clothes I already owned. I would just purchase the pieces I was missing.
Fashion shows are giant moving mannequins performing and displaying art. It was my training in theatre that made me realize this was spectacle. The shows are meant to inspire me to use what I already have in a totally new way, and you know, buy those missing pieces from the designers.
Projects, Projects, Projects
So for today I just thought I'd do a quick update about what I have planned for the near future. I have always been a big lover of series type things from television series and movie sagas to youtube series and blog series. I have always wanted to do a fashion series based on one of my favorite fashion books, What to Wear, Where. I still don't feel confident enough to do that just quite yet.
I'm not going to let that stop me though!
*500 cupcakes by Fergal Connolly and Judith Fertig is my favorite cookbook for cupcakes. I pull others from Pinterest as well. My favorite to make Irish Car Bomb cupcakes which are always fun to take with you to a parrrtay. ;D
It'll be called Apt 213, and it's about the girls (ie me and Courtney) who live in it. :D
We'll be doing all kinds of crazy things like drunk Mario Kart racing, baking (I foresee a giant mess I am going to have to clean), and us talking/ranting about random things.
It's going to be crazy!!!!! * pic from ThisIsSmileyandshell
If you guys have any suggestions or help or comments about either thing that I'm about to embark on please post them below! I'd love to chat with you guys about them.
Weird Obsession #2: Cupcakes
I 1000% adore a good cupcake. I've always preferred a cupcake to regular cake although I can't exactly
pinpoint why. It could be because it's my own personal cake. No cupcake is ever the same no matter
how much they may look the same.
A lot of people don't know that the original way to eat a cupcake was to make it a sandwich by pulling
the bottom off. Now a days it's a lot harder to do because everyone loads them up with icing...not that
I'm complaining. I always thought that was crazy!!
Personally, I like eating it so the icing can get on my nose. ;D
Usually I prefer making them and giving them away to friends, family, etc. I used to have a cupcake
recipe book, but I've either lost it or left it back in Alabama. So that just means I need to get a brand
new one to start from scratch with!
In the mean time, I've been applying for a new job at local cupcake bakeries. Specifically I've applied
to Sprinkles, the world's first cupcake bakery!!! I want it freaking badly. So keep your fingers crossed
for me!
Do you have any food obsessions? If so let me know below!!

me in 2014
So it has taken me a long ass time to write this post. I wanted to do something new year's oriented without being so cliche or lying to myself when it comes to New Year's resolutions. Then things started to get in the way. Since January first I've: moved, transferred schools, gotten into a car accident, had a very serious fight with someone I love, and generally questioned every single decision I've ever made.
I came to one conclusion...
I'm going to do what makes me happy and if people don't like it...to bad. I am twenty four years old, and I don't have my life figured out. It's okay. I know the things I love, and I'm going to keep doing them and experimenting until I figure out what it is that I do want to do.
I love music....so I'm going to attend a LOT of concerts.
Coachella 2012 (google images) |
I love connecting people....so I'm going to school for Broadcasting.
Ryan Seacreast and Selena Gomez at 102.7 |
I love fashion...so I'm going to take some Fashion Marketing classes and try to go to some events.
Currently reading!!! |
I enjoy photography....so I'm going to take a photography class and carry my camera around.
A picture of Courtney I took at the Griffith Observatory |
I want to eat healthy...so I'm going to have the willpower to say no to that cupcake.
Keep on swimming. Keep on swimming. Keep on swimming. |
I want to be active...so I'm going to do more things like cirque and dance and running.
Definitely want to try surfing this summer (google images) |
I am going to love the things I love and not be embarrassed about them.
I am going to best me I can be.
Cirque de Sore!
So last night, I tried something brand new in the world of activities. My best friend/roommate has been taking classes at the Cirque School LA, and she convinced me to go!
I attended the Aerial Fitness and Conditioning (the uber beginner class!) with Courtney last night, and man am I sore today!! I don't even want to think of how sore I'd be if I didn't take my Herbalife Restore last nigh, drink about a gallon of water before bed, and stretched before bed.
It was sooo much fun though. I will definitely be going back weekly. The class that I attended had us doing a three station rotation after a fifteen minute warm up which tested my balance and core strength for sure. We did conditioning in one section, worked trapeze basics in another, and fabric basics in the last. It was difficult (seeing as I have no upper body strength what so ever), but so much fun that I didn't care.
The school has a tag line of "for anybody with any body." You really feel safe and encouraged in the space, not only from the teachers but your fellow students as well.
It is a great option for those like me who get bored at the gym easily. I've done dance classes, spin classes, pole classes, "surfing" land classes, and so many more. This reminded me a lot of gymnastics which I took when was a kid. I'm feeling a new addiction coming on.
If you're in LA you should definitely check out the Cirque School!
Do you have any fun physical activities?
