Wardrobe Wanted: Midi Skirt

So, my friends always know when I'm on a YouTube binge again because I always get VERY girly VERY quickly. I go from jeans and a basic tee to skirts and heels overnight. Needless to say, I am on a kick right now and I saw Ingrid (or missglamorazzi) wearing the adorable mid from DailyLook and now I freaking want it!!!

I adore how Ingrid
styled in on DL!!!

I don't even really know how I would even begin to style this after that...maybe a pair of high tops and a crop top or some heels and a flannel tee tied over a tank top. I'm just love it!!

If you guys have any ideas on how to style it post them below because with how much I plan on wearing this, I can use all the help I can get!

Music Monday: Little Red Wagon

"and I ain't about drama, ya'll, and I love my apron, but I ain't your mama! so guess what?"

So I have been on a country kick lately. I don't know if it's because I miss my friends and family back home, or I'm just in a "country song" place in my life right now. As per usual though, I've turned to one of my favorite country ladies: Miranda Lambert.

I have always loved Miranda because I feel like she's really found a perfect mix of classic country sounds while still doing something new with it. Her new album, Platinum, is one of my all time favorites too. She's got some really fun upbeat songs like "Platinum", "Old Sh!t", and her duet with Carrie Underwood (woohoooo) "Something Bad". The whole album though is really worth a listen though if you enjoy classic country.

"Little Red Wagon" is my favorite right now though. If I tired to put all my favorite lines in the song here, I would just end up putting all the lyrics to the song up. I mean, come on, it's starts out with the lines "You only love me for my big sunglasses, and my Tony Lomas, and my Dodge dark classic."

But take a listen for yourself and let me know what you think!! Or if you have any suggestions for new music for me to check out, leave those too!

Music Monday: Brain Dead by Alex Goot

If you don't know who Alex Goot is...you should remedy this immediately. You can look him up on Spotify or the YouTube, then sit back and prepare to be amazed. Not only does he have a nice little collection of amazing songs that he wrote, but his covers are just breath taking interpretations...yes, even one's like Call Me Maybe.

This Music Monday is about one of his original songs titled "Brain Dead" of his new album 'Wake Up Call'.

I don't know what draws me into this song more: the catchy beat in the intro, Alex's crisp clear vocals, or the lyrics that show how damaged people can get in relationships without realizing it.

"I have no clue how I'm with you
And I've started to realize
I've been brain dead all this time."

It's such a paradox to me because the song itself is so upbeat despite that lyrics intention when you really listen.

I still adore it though...I would go so far as to say it's my favorite off his new album...

But be sure to check out the whole thing!! Let me know which is your favorite!

Wardrobe Wanted: Suspenders

So...you'll learn I love a good alliteration such as 'wardrobe wanted' and 'music monday'....

The first piece of clothing for my dream closet or what I want in my wardrobe are these amazing pair of suspenders. They are a high waisted black denim pair with front and back pockets. You can never have enough pockets right? The straps are a faux leather and adjustable.

There are just so many options of ways to wear them! Above you see them as pictured on DailyLook which are perfect day ways to wear them in the city. If I were to wear them to the beach I'd add a flowery crop top like this one.

For an evening look I'd wear a green dressy top like this one, then add a pair of heels.

Music Monday: Good Girl by 5SOS

So Music Monday is my new thing...let's give it a whirl shall we?

I'm going to start with my personal song of the summer: 'Good Girl' by 5 Seconds of Summer. These Aussie boys had me at 'She Looks So Perfect'. It was hard to picture myself with a boy who didn't wear American Apparel underwear after that....

However, their newest song 'Good Girl' is just too damn catchy.

I'll admit it is a little cliche about the girl next door being a bad girl when no one is looking. Yet, these boys still make the story fun and exciting. You can't help but dance along when you hear it, I promise.

Once I heard the line tag line: "good girls are bad girls that haven't been caught," I switched my Spotify to repeat it over and over until I had the song memorized.

I hope you enjoy the first song of Music Mondays! Be sure to tweet me your personal song for the summer with the hastag #MusicMonday !!

First SF Trip of the Year!

Hey guys! So yesterday I took a little trip with my roommate Courtney and our friend Nick....to Six Flags Magic Mountain!!! It was our first trip there of the year (me and Courtney have memberships ;D ).

If you live in the LA area I suggest going now until school let's out and go during the week. The longest we waited in line was fifteen minutes! It was amazing. We got lucky also because the weather was sooo warm yesterday. It was a total coincidence that the day we planned to go the temperature ended up being in 80s. It was perfect!

On to the pictures!

Oh! I also got my hair ombre'd recently!

Our first ride of the day!

Courtney found her ride ;D

Gotta make sure no one is watching!

Worst ride ever!! It hurt so bad...never again.

My favorite ride in action! Tatsu!
Superman is a close second though.

And that was my Monday! I hope you're Monday was just as awesome! And I'll see you guys later! <3

White Chocolate Frosted Devil's Food Cake

A new day a new cupcake to try!!

So you would think that I now work at a cupcake bakery I'd be sick and tired of cupcakes. You would be wrong. It's made me love them even more! There are so many options out there, I feel like I'll never get around to trying all of them!

This week I made White Chocolate Frosted Devil's Food Cake Cupcakes. Wow that's a mouthful! The original cupcake is just your basic Devil's Food Cake, but I'm not a huge fan of boatloads of chocolate. So I thought I'd shake it up and make the frosting whit chocolate instead. They turned out pretty tasty according to my friends.

So I'll stop rambling and jump in!

BAM! All the stuff I needed for the recipe (which I will post at the end)! I did use almond milk and all purpose flour instead and they turned out fine!

BEFORE!

AND AFTER!
While they cooled, I whipped up the frosting. It wasn't as thick as I would have liked, but it tasted fine.
I find taste is always more important than how it looks.

The finished product!!

I'll post the recipe below and send me photos if you make your own!! #25Cupcakes

DEVIL'S FOOD CUPCAKES

for the cupcakes:
2 cups of self-rising flour (i used all purpose and it was fine)
1 tsp baking powder
1 cup packed light brown sugar
1 cup butter, softened
2 separated eggs
3 1/2 oz. semisweet chocolate, melted
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup milk (i used almond)

Preheat the oven to 350 F ( 175 C ). Place 18 paper baking cups into muffin pans. Sift the flour and baking powder and set aside. In a medium bowl, cream the sugar and butter. Add the egg yolks and beat well. Add the melted chocolate and vanilla, mixing well. Add the flour and milk alternately, beating well with each addition. Beat the egg whites in a medium bowl until soft peaks form, and gently fold them into the batter. Spoon the batter into the cups. Bake for 20 minutes. Remove pans from the oven and cool for 5 minutes. Then remove the cupcakes and cool on the rack.

for the frosting:
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 tbsp milk
3 1/2 oz. semisweet chocolate, melted (i substituted white chocolate here)
1 tsp vanilla extract
3/4 confectioners' sugar, sifted

To make the frosting, cream the butter in a medium bowl. Beat in the milk until smooth. Stir in the chocolate and vanilla. Beat in the confectioners' sugar until thick and creamy. Spread over the cupcakes. Store unfrosted in an airtight container for up to 2 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.

Enjoy!!!
